The SimpleFIN option for Europe & New Zealand
SimpleFIN Bridge is the hosted service that connects US and Canadian banks to apps speaking the open SimpleFIN protocol, such as Actual Budget. It does that job well, and if your accounts are in the US or Canada it's the right tool.
The short version
Synci solves the same problem for the other side of the Atlantic: it speaks the same SimpleFIN protocol that Actual Budget already understands, but connects banks in Europe and New Zealand through regulated open banking. Many households use both, one bridge per region, feeding the same budget.

When Synci is the right choice
If your banks are in Europe or New Zealand, SimpleFIN Bridge can't reach them, and Synci can. You connect your bank once through its own regulated open-banking login, paste your Synci setup token into Actual's SimpleFIN settings, and sync on demand. If your bank delivers data in a strange shape, Synci's rule engine lets you move, rewrite, and reformat fields before anything reaches Actual. Pending transactions are supported where your bank exposes them, and the same connection can also feed YNAB, Lunch Money, spreadsheets, and webhooks.
