Why Synci

Can Claude read my bank transactions?

Yes, once you put a connector in between. Claude cannot log in to a bank, but it can talk to Synci: you link your bank through its own regulated open-banking login, then add Synci as a custom connector in Claude's settings by pasting https://api.synci.io/mcp and signing in. Claude then reads the accounts you shared, and nothing else.

Claude is the assistant people reach for when the question needs actual work rather than a lookup, so the depth of what it can see matters more than the fact it is connected. On Pro it can read up to 2 years of transactions, where your bank provides it, with merchant names already cleaned up, which is the difference between a real answer and a confident guess.

Yes, through Synci. Add Synci as a custom connector in Claude's settings using https://api.synci.io/mcp, sign in, and Claude gets read-only access to the accounts you chose. It can read transactions, balances and holdings, and answer questions about them in plain language.

Open Claude's settings, add a custom connector, and paste https://api.synci.io/mcp. Claude will take you through signing in to your Synci account and approving access. There are no API keys to create or store: it is a standard OAuth sign-in and Synci registers the client automatically.

On Basic, 60 days. On Pro, up to 2 years, where your bank provides it. Imported history varies: many PSD2 banks hand over roughly 90 days, others up to 24 months. Claude can only reason over the history your bank actually gave us.

If your connection is older than the change that raised Pro's window, we may only be holding what was retained under the previous limit, and it grows from there. Re-authorising your bank connection re-imports the history your bank offers, which fills the gap in one step.

It can list your accounts, read balance snapshots, read transactions in a date range, read investment and crypto holdings, and check whether a connection is healthy. That is the entire surface. There are no write operations, so it cannot move money, pay anyone, or place a trade.

No. Authentication happens in your bank's own login flow through regulated open-banking APIs. Neither Synci nor Claude ever receives your bank credentials, and sensitive identifiers like IBAN and card numbers are omitted from everything Claude can read.

Yes, at any time, from your Synci account. You can also keep the connector and simply unshare individual accounts, which narrows what Claude sees without disconnecting it.
