Bank data protocol
SimpleFIN bank sync for Europe & New Zealand
Sync your bank transactions and balances to Actual Budget, Firefly III, Sure, Buckets, and any other app powered by SimpleFIN.
Why Synci
Does SimpleFIN work with European banks?
SimpleFIN is an open protocol that gives budgeting apps a secure, read-only way to fetch your bank data. The catch: the usual SimpleFIN sources cover US and Canadian banks, leaving Europe and New Zealand out. Synci is a SimpleFIN source for those markets.
Link your bank once, copy a setup token, and paste it into any SimpleFIN app: Actual Budget, Firefly III, Sure or Buckets. Each gets read-only access to the accounts you choose and never sees your bank credentials. Find your bank below.
Features

- Works with any SimpleFIN-compatible budgeting or finance app, including Actual Budget, Firefly III, Sure, and Buckets
- Set up in minutes with a one-time setup token, no scripts or browser extensions needed
- Apps get a secure, read-only connection limited to the accounts you choose to share
- Re-syncing never creates duplicate transactions
- Customize payees and descriptions with bank account rules
By app
One connection, every app that speaks SimpleFIN.
The setup token is all any of them needs. Pick your app for its prerequisites, exact setup steps, and the questions specific to it.
Actual Budget
Actual has SimpleFIN bank sync built in. Paste a Synci setup token into its settings, link the shared accounts, and run Bank Sync whenever you want fresh data.
Firefly III
The official Firefly III Data Importer has supported SimpleFIN since v1.7.0, which makes it the practical European route now that GoCardless is closing.
Sure
Sure, the community fork of Maybe, has a SimpleFIN provider under Settings > Providers. Paste the token, link the accounts, done.
Liquid Budget
A hosted envelope budgeting app whose own Plaid and SimpleFIN routes stop at US and Canadian banks. The same token opens it up to Europe and New Zealand.
