Why Synci
Can Grok read your bank transactions?
Yes, once Synci is added as a custom connector. Grok supports MCP: link your bank to Synci through its own regulated open-banking login, then go to grok.com/connectors, choose New Connector and then Custom, and paste https://api.synci.io/mcp. Grok then reads the accounts you shared and nothing more.
Synci has no Grok-specific integration and does not need one: it runs an MCP server, and Grok is one client that can connect to it. That is why setup is a URL and a sign-in.

Grok can
- List the accounts you shared, across banks, brokerages and crypto exchanges
- Read recent balance snapshots, with the timestamp they were taken
- Read transactions in a date range you or it asks for
- Read investment and crypto holdings: symbol, quantity, market value
- Check the health of your connections, so it can tell you when data is stale
Grok cannot
- Move money, make payments, or place trades
- Change anything at all: the server is read-only and has no write operations
- See accounts you did not share, or reach your bank directly
- See your bank login, which never leaves your bank's own flow
- See sensitive identifiers: IBAN, BBAN, card numbers, phone numbers and owner names are omitted
Enrichment is opt-in and separate from this: when you turn it on, only pseudonymised transaction data reaches our enrichment provider, and it is never used to train models or shared with unrelated third parties. See our privacy policy for the detail.

Setting up Grok
On Grok Business and Enterprise, a team admin has to provision the connector in the cloud console before anyone in the organisation can add it. On a personal account you add it yourself.

Log in through your bank's own PSD2 flow. Synci never sees or stores your credentials.

Connect your bank to Synci and pick the accounts to share. Then go to grok.com/connectors, click New Connector, choose Custom, and enter https://api.synci.io/mcp. Sign in, and Grok can read those accounts.
On a personal account, no. On Grok Business and Enterprise, a team admin provisions the connector in the cloud console first.
No. Synci's server exposes no write operations, so there is nothing for Grok to call even if you asked. It can list accounts and read balances, transactions and holdings. That is the whole surface.
Any account you did not share, your bank login, and sensitive identifiers: IBAN, BBAN, card numbers, phone numbers and owner names are all omitted.
60 days on Basic, and up to 2 years on Pro where your bank provides it. Many PSD2 banks return roughly 90 days, others up to 24 months.
It reads your latest synced data when you ask. Synci polls your bank every hour to every 6 hours, depending on your plan and your bank's own limits. Balances can be older than transactions, so ask for the as-of time.
