Why Synci

Does Perplexity work with bank data?

It does once you add a connector. Perplexity supports MCP connectors, so you link your bank to Synci through its own regulated open-banking login, add https://api.synci.io/mcp as a connector, and sign in. Perplexity can then read the accounts you shared, read-only.

What makes Perplexity different from the other assistants here is that it was built to research the open web. Connecting your accounts means it can hold both sides of a question at once: what you are actually paying, and what everyone else is charging. Your budgeting app knows the first half; Perplexity can go and find the second.

Change anything at all: the server is read-only and has no write operations

See sensitive identifiers: IBAN, BBAN, card numbers, phone numbers and owner names are omitted

Yes, and that is the reason to connect it rather than another assistant. It can read what you actually pay for something and research what it costs elsewhere in the same answer, which takes both halves of the question at once.

No. Perplexity reads your data to answer you; it is not sent to a search index or made public. Perplexity's own handling of a conversation is governed by its terms, so share only the accounts you are comfortable putting in scope, and see our privacy policy for what Synci does with your data.

Your account list, recent balance snapshots, transactions in a date range, investment and crypto holdings, and the health of each connection. Nothing else. Account numbers, IBANs, card numbers and owner names are omitted, and there are no write operations, so it cannot move money.

60 days on Basic, and up to 2 years on Pro where your bank provides it. Banks differ: some PSD2 banks return roughly 90 days of history, others up to 24 months.

Yes. Remove the connector in Perplexity, or revoke access from your Synci account to cut it off immediately. Unsharing individual accounts is the middle option.
