Connect Perplexity to your bank data
Add Synci as an MCP connector in Perplexity and put your own numbers beside the research it already does on the open web. It can read your accounts; it can never place a trade or move money.
In practice
What you can ask Perplexity.
Questions that reach past one account, one statement period, or the merchant names your bank sends.
You pay €189 a month across the two. The cheapest tariffs advertised in your market right now would bring that to €143, saving about €46 a month.

Why Synci
Does Perplexity work with bank data?
It does once you add a connector. Perplexity supports MCP, so you link your bank to Synci through its own regulated open-banking login, add https://api.synci.io/mcp as a connector, and sign in. Perplexity then reads the accounts you shared, read-only.
Perplexity was built to research the open web. Connecting your accounts lets it hold both sides of a question at once: what you are actually paying, and what everyone else is charging.
Features
Perplexity
- Added as an MCP connector in Perplexity, then a standard sign-in
- Your own numbers alongside Perplexity's live web research, in one answer
- Reads the accounts you share: transactions, balances and positions
- Covers brokerages and crypto exchanges alongside your current accounts
- Read-only by design: Perplexity cannot move money or change anything
- Disconnect or narrow its access from your Synci account at any time
Scope
Exactly what Perplexity can and cannot do.
Perplexity reaches your accounts through five read-only tools.
- list_accounts
- get_account_balance
- list_transactions
- list_holdings
- list_connections
Perplexity can
- List the accounts you shared, across banks, brokerages and crypto exchanges
- Read recent balance snapshots, with the timestamp they were taken
- Read transactions in a date range you or it asks for
- Read investment and crypto holdings: symbol, quantity, market value
- Check the health of your connections, so it can tell you when data is stale
Perplexity cannot
- Move money, make payments, or place trades
- Change anything at all: the server is read-only and has no write operations
- See accounts you did not share, or reach your bank directly
- See your bank login, which never leaves your bank's own flow
- See sensitive identifiers: IBAN, BBAN, card numbers, phone numbers and owner names are omitted
Enrichment is opt-in and separate from this: when you turn it on, only pseudonymised transaction data reaches our enrichment provider, and it is never used to train models or shared with unrelated third parties. See our privacy policy for the detail.

FAQ
Common questions
Yes. Perplexity supports MCP connectors: add Synci's MCP server at https://api.synci.io/mcp, sign in, and ask about your balances, transactions and holdings alongside its web research. Read-only, and limited to the accounts you pick.
Connect your bank to Synci first and choose which accounts to share. Then, in Perplexity's connector settings, add https://api.synci.io/mcp and sign in. No API key needed.
Yes, and that is the reason to connect it. It can read what you actually pay for something and research what it costs elsewhere, in one answer.
No. Perplexity reads your data to answer you; it is not sent to a search index or made public. What it does with a conversation is governed by its own terms, so share only the accounts you are comfortable putting in scope.
Your account list, recent balance snapshots, transactions in a date range, holdings, and the health of each connection. Nothing else. Account numbers, IBANs, card numbers and owner names are omitted.
60 days on Basic, and up to 2 years on Pro where your bank provides it. Some PSD2 banks return roughly 90 days, others up to 24 months.
Yes. Remove the connector in Perplexity, or revoke access from your Synci account to cut it off immediately. Unsharing individual accounts is the middle option.
